ISLAND IN THE SUN
It's so easy to be complicated
I do it all the time and yet I hate it
There's a price on being clever and I paid it
And I think the brain is overrated anyway
I am done with working in the city
Take a look at my life, it isn't pretty
And my friends are just like me, such a pity
Trying to stay afloat by being witty all the time
And there is a little voice, says it was no choice living on the run
I'm gonna find myself an island in the sun
All day long I watch the waves and the weather
Every now and then I'll get a letter
Just to tell me things are not getting better
With a drink in my hand it doesn't matter much to me
It's not easy to be complicated
Not a lot of people appreciate it
When the bubble 's about to burst, just deflate it
So I'm gonna take it easy till I made it to the sun
